Soil for Future Generations

  • Mill Creek Urban Farm 4901 Brown St Philadelphia, PA United States (map)

This is one day at a community farm to volunteer, break bread, get art, and donate for local earth keepers and water protectors.

Soil Generation is a Black & Brown-led coalition ensuring people of color regain community control of Philly's land and food. Our Plants is an art publication that shares the stories of nine medicinal plants and nine Philly folk who love them. Sales of zines, prints, and snacks inspired by these stories will raise money for SG's latest training program.

Split Rock Sweetwater Prayer Camp is a group of Ramapough Lenape who have been protecting sacred land & local waterways from the threat of AIM and Pilgrim pipeline construction. Sales of indigenous-inspired fare and take-home snacks will raise money for the Prayer Camp's legal fund.

We encourage folks to come through for our hosts, Mill Creek Urban Farm, to get connected with this place we're celebrating and fighting for. All volunteers get free grub, and all neighbors are welcome to drop in to check out the art and take-homes we'll be selling (all proceeds to the above orgs). Bring a friend and enjoy a day in the neighborhood with us!
